It's that time again...VACATION TIME!

So every year I take a short vacation to spend time with my best friend Amanda in Colorado. I usually go in January and or October. This year I decided to do something a little different and go in May. If you all do not know by now, I have a HUGE passion for outdoors. I enjoy hiking, site seeing, exploring, and everything else mother nature has to offer. I spent four days (May 12-May 15) in Denver with Amanda and we went on some great adventures.

Sunday we headed to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. What's so special about going to a zoo you may ask. For starters this zoo is a non-profit organization which are amongst only a handful of accredited zoos. The zoo prides itself on wildlife conservation and houses 750 animals of variety and over 150 species. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo sits at an elevation of 6,714 mountain side spanning 146 acres. The zoo is known for having the largest Giraffe herd in the world. Visiting this particular zoo was definitely on my To Do List because of their wide assortment of animals, their commitment to conservation, and being located mountain side which would give us a good hike and view. Below are some photos from our trip to the zoo.

Monday Amanda & I went on a hike at Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs. I must admit this park was immaculate. I was definitely starstruck and did not want to leave. The park consists of 15 miles of trails perfect for hiking and are especially known for their red rocks. Not much to say here besides letting the photos speak for themselves. We finished off our day by enjoying some excellent Mediterranean food at this wonderful restaurant called Heart of Jerusalem. The food was so fresh and delicious we ate ourselves under the table. My favorite food is Greek/Meditteranean and this restaurant is definitely sitting at my Top 5 as #1.
