Welcome Back Bloomers!
It is official we are slowly approaching the first day of Fall. September is a fun and adventurous month here in Dallas filled with family friendly activities. With my birthday being September 6th I usually celebrate all month long and I am looking forward to all the events and festivals this year. Here are some of my favorite events happening in September.
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Did you know that from September 15th to October 15th you can celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month? The Dallas Arboretum has their fourth annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration September 4-5th that features a Quinceañera Fashion Show. During this weekend event you can visit their vendor market, take a cooking demo, watch artists performances, and much more. Desoto hosts a similar event called Latino Heritage Festival that features Latino music artists, food, vendors, and family fun activities on September 18th. Pride Fest at Reverchon Park is September 25th. These are some of the many activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage.
STATE FAIR OF TEXAS
If you love funnel cakes, turkey legs, and live music it is a must that you attend the State Fair of Texas. The fair opens on September 24 and ends on October 17th. This gives you 28 days of great family fun. If you are a parent any child under 2 has free admission. General admission prices range from $15-$25 for adults and $10-$18 for children.Somethings that my husband and I enjoy doing at the State Fair include watching the rodeo and attending the concerts.
MARGARITA MILE
Do you love margaritas? Well one of Dallas most popular self guided tour is the Margarita Mile. Fun fact: the very first frozen margarita machine was invented in Dallas in 1971. Season One of Margarita Mile ends on September 30th and the app will no longer be available until relaunch February 22, 2022 for National Margarita Day for Season Two. The app features a variety of unique margaritas to enjoy from various restaurants. You can check in at stops and earn prizes. How cool it that! It is safe to say that hubby and I will be taking advantage of this.
DALLAS ARBORETUM
Beginning September 18th the Dallas Arboretum has their annual pumpkin patch with 90,000 pumpkins and gourds. I am really looking forward to visiting this year as this is their 16th year. This is such a great event for family activities.
DEEP ELLUM ARTS FESTIVAL
This is a free 3 day event in Downtown Dallas from September 10th-12th. This festival has more than 200 talented artists selling their original works as well as bands and performing artists. You have the ability to purchase art from sculptors, jewelers, painters, wood crafter, and much more.
DALLAS FARMERS MARKET
If you are a beer lover this is the event for you this season. Dallas Farmers Market is hosting their annual Observer BrewFest. This is the 11th annual fest that will take place on Saturday, September 11th from 3pm-6pm. The Observer BrewFest is an outdoor beer-sampling festival that features hundreds of craft beers. General Admission tickets start at $42 and include entry into the event at 3pm. With this ticket you are granted access to beer samples, food vendors, and entertainment. There are two other types of tickets VIP admission, Beer Me 4- Pack, and Weekender. If you want to experience the full weekend the Weekender Ticket is the best option for you. This ticket is priced at $76.
